***7/30/2020 in recent discovery.  There are EF G17 Gen 4 replicas with the outer barrel with Square Cuts and not the taper cuts on the inside of the outer barrel.  This means the hop-up unit in your Gen 4 unit is from a Gen 3 unit and this it needs more room for proper canting.  Without that internal space, the ProArms Gen 4 barrel that was designed for the "Original" EF G17 Gen 4 will not work.  I am investigating this issue and it could be as simple as a Gen 3 barrel in a Gen 4 G17GBB now.  Check back for updates in the future.

Over the last two days I received and worked on a EF G17G4 that was "out of tolerance".  Took a working upper with threaded barrel and placed it on the unit that was "binding".  Did not work.  Several factors contributed to G17G4 binding.

Do to the slop of the VFC/EF G17G4.  Buy the barrel at your own risk.  Or..buy the barrel and send me your GBB for fitment and testing.
Other users are report that the Maple Leaf Glock Hop-Up unit mitigates the binding issue due to the shallower profile of the ML Hop-Up Unit.
8/9/2020 - UPDATE.
I have in total examined 4 (3 at field and one from a gentleman who mailed their unit from Texas for hand fitting) EF G17 GEN4 and there are indeed tolerance variations between the models on the LOWER's.  My Completely stock and functioning unit only worked with 1 of the 3 units I tested it on.  And vices versa all of the units worked on my lower.  So the issue is mostly on the lower.
More are not allowing the stock unit TIP the inner barrel and hop-up as easily.  We are discussing hand fitting techniques on Airsoft Society Airsoft Forums.  DO NOT BUY THESE UNITS if you think they are drop in.  They are not any more and may "require" hand fitting to get them to work.

Certified on Gen 3 >>>(prior to 2020 Model where they made changes)<<<
If your Gen3 has this nub (see picture), it will not drop in and work.  Massive grinding on outer barrel is required to allow the hop-up unit to pivot up into the outer barrel to cycle.  However, it will work with the Marui G17 Outer barrel, minus the spacer.
Marui Compatible works with EF Gen 3 Replicas in the G17 and G18C when you also grind down the anti-tip nub to look like Picture 3.

A buyer claims that it did not work in his 2021 EF G18C.  Functionality has not be denied, so BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.  I however don't think they made changes to defeat a small market barrel maker from Asia.
