1950 'Music Box Post Card' Which Plays Jingle Bells but is Non-functional, from Baker Music Box Cards. A bit unusual, it is a Christmas Card attached to a music box. The card shows Santa Claus on the front, playing a cello, and with the message "Merry Christmas to you." The card sits atop a music box, and opens up to show the sheet music for "Jingle Bells." There is a message and a photo of the sender. Unfortunately the music box no longer works. The whole combo in very good condition. The outer box has some wear, but the inner card is still very bright and vibrant, with no wear, except some damage to the lower corner. The inside of the card and the back of the music box are likewise clean. Please see the photos above to get a better idea of this item and its condition.

Original and moving "1950 'Music Box Post Card' Which Plays Jingle Bells but is Non-functional," from Baker Music Box Cards.  The outer box measures 6" x 5" x 3/4".
So I'm a child of the 50's and I've never seen anything like this before.  It is a Christmas Card attached to a music box sent through the Post … the mail, therefore it is a Post Card.  But not the type we usually think of as a postcard.
The card shows Santa Claus on the front, playing a cello, and also has the message "Merry Christmas to you."  The card sits on top of the music box, and opens up to show the sheet music for "Jingle Bells."  Also there is a message inside.  Plus as an added feature the sender of this card taped her photo into the card.   It looks a bit like my mother who was 18 years old in 1950.
This amazing music box on the back of the 1950's Christmas Card apparently doesn't work anymore.  It used to play "Jungle Bells," but no longer.
The box is unposted, though it is address to a  Mr. David Motz in Pennsylvania.  It's interesting that in 1950 it only took a 5¢ stamp to mail it.
The whole combo - the shipping box, and the card & music box are all in very good condition.   The original owner made no attempt to preserve the outer box, so the tabs were torn when the box was opened, and there is some wear to the box.   The inner card however is still very bright and vibrant, with no wear, except some damage to the lower corner.   The inside of the card is likewise clean, though slightly brown from age. The back … of the music box is also in very good condition.
